🟣 The Story of Jrumz: Meet the Founder Behind the Sound

At Jrumz, we believe sound is more than something you hear—it’s something you feel.

For eight years, Dr. Lana Joseph—known to many as Dr. J—suffered from an undiagnosed speech and hearing disorder as a child. Despite struggling in silence, once she finally received the care she needed, her life changed in just three months. That personal transformation sparked a lifelong mission: to make sure other children, especially those from underserved communities like the one she grew up in, would never have to wait as long for help.

Driven by that purpose, Dr. J founded High Level Speech and Hearing Center, which now proudly serves over 8,000 children annually, providing early intervention services that give kids the tools to speak, hear, and thrive. Her impact didn’t go unnoticed—Dr. J received national recognition from Forbes, the American Cancer Society, Black Enterprise, and Women’s Health Magazine for her work in healthcare and community service.

Then something unexpected happened.

Musicians and recording artists began reaching out—not for therapy, but for her expertise in sound and hearing. They needed help with their in-ear monitors, audio clarity, and hearing protection. In 2018, Drake himself reached out, and that moment changed everything. Dr. J realized that even Grammy-winning artists rely on clear, healthy sound—and they were coming to her for answers.

That realization gave birth to Jrumz in 2022.

Founded by a Black woman audiologist and entrepreneur, Jrumz is now the first woman-owned audio company in the U.S. We design doctor-approved ear wear that’s built not just for style or performance, but to protect the very sense that powers music: your hearing.

Our flagship product, the XP02, is now a patented innovation—and we’re just getting started.

From church stages to stadiums, gym floors to jazz clubs, Jrumz is sound that moves with you. Crafted in New Orleans. Worn by the world.
